PR0 or page rank zero is Google's lowest search relevancy or site ranking. The rating scale goes from 0-10 with zero being the penalty for being a bad net citizen with your site (or in some cases an attack from a competitor). We will dive into common PR0 causes later into this tutorial.
Don't go thinking just because your site has a non existent ranking, that you actually have a zero. It takes weeks, sometimes months for Google to rank your site once it has been submitted. Most new sites will start out as a PR1 after a month or two. This is all dependent of course if your site is relevant to the information you are posting and you have at least a few mentions (or back links) to your site throughout the internet.
If you don't find this information useful so far, or you can't follow it (everyone has their own style) then please check out the following link.

What is the most typical reason for getting a PR0 or (banned by google). The #1 reason is spamming, spyware, viruses & otherwise unethical practices.
Search Engine Spamming - building link farms and/or several thousand pages using computer generated text or graphical content. It might seem like a great idea and sure you might get away with it for awhile but remember Google hires the best/brightest employees around the world. That means if you can think of a way to spam Google with useless information theres an employee at Google who's already put measures in place to find you. And if Google Inc. doesn't find you, one of your competitors for your keyword will almost undoubtedly report you.
Spyware - Linking to (and or promoting for profit) software which attempts to alter a computer for nefarious profit bound purposes. It might seem like an easy way to make a quick buck but it will result in you getting banned. It's also very important that you check all of your outgoing links to friends/associates for this type of advertising. Hackers sometimes take over servers & install spyware on your site unknowingly so be sure to have your hosting company do occasional checks.
Viruses - Much like spy ware but typically intended to harm computers. Most commercial related viruses are used to simply turn computers into zombies. It's very important that you have a website technician check your site weekly to make sure no one has compromised your server and vicariously your website visitors. Not only will Google ban you for linking to a virus but the hacker may then be using your site to host illegal material such as Hollywood movies, software (warez), pornography etc. This could easily cause your hosting bill to skyrocket to many thousands of dollars that you will now be responsible for.
Other unethical causes for PR0 rankings (a short quick list)
- Interlinking all of your sites to appear more popular to the engines
- Stealing content from other sites (text, graphics, media files)
- Linking to or displaying illegal materials, manifests or diagrams.
You should now have a basic understanding of what a Page Rank Zero or pr0 is, I've also gone over typical causes for receiving a zero. Steer clear of doing shady things and maybe one day you will be a PR10 with billions of hits a year!
